Ahhhh...the weekend.
Rather a dull time in most mafia games.

fubbleskag said, Oops, that's a Mason slip. I wonder if scum will notice.

Well, I was wrong about Normal Phase. This game was moving far too slowly to have any other gut feelings. Hopefully it'll pick up once the bodies start hitting the floor!

Ha, I got glowacks right (with a lot of luck). Interesting scum team with two new players. Only TexCat had some heat for not participationg that much I think. peeker vig again ><. I guess he dropped his vig-as-engineer/doctor comment as a disctraction (he's talking about the vig so probably not it).
@idle's rant: Hacker is a far cry being as useful as a doctor or cop in my opinion. Only waving your claim around definitely didn't help either.

Why was I killed by the way? I guess they were afraid of being seem by peeker or perhaps didn't want to kill above Red Skeezix to keep him away from the doctor's seat (nice for scum but someone why has made investigations also if a prime candidate to be investigated to check his results).

You can check out the scum boards by following the link in the setup thread. Basically, they want to target players who are unlikely to be being watched. And they don't want to target officers because it'll be hard to explain why they're not targeted when a scum is there.
I'm not sure what they'll do about Idle, who's fairly well confirmed now.

Wow. Almost completely wrong. As much as my being a dead townie might contribute to fluiddruid being mislynched and/or texcat being trusted, the townies are probably better off with me dead. Good lord. As usual I do have an accurate day one ping (that as usual I pass by too easily), but otherwise, man. Worst game in a long time.

Town are really screwed, aren't we? I'd love to blame it all on myself, that's the sort of mood I'm in, but God. So much crappy play by so many people.

The newbie scum glowacks and Crackrat are doing well, I think. Or well enough, given the poor performance of much of the town.

Yeah, they're doing fine, obviously, just the town as a whole is self-destructing. Usually enough of the "low hanging fruit" is scum that the town can afford to go after them first and hope to get a leg up with careful decision making among them. And after that, go after the clean-nosers and the like. At least that's the way I tend to play, and it usually works well. In this game, all the low hanging fruit is town. I still cannot get over Hal. Literally, cannot. He could have saved himself and just possibly the game too, with just a tiny bit of effort. And he didn't put it out there. I can't say I ever want to be in a game with him again, to be honest. I'm also perversely amused that the two people Stanislaus omitted from his analysis of the Drain Bead bandwagon were the two scum on it, crackrat and Red Skeezix. I do feel bad about fluiddruid (not to mention the Mahaloth screwup, gah!). My case on her was a single post essentially, just given that I was lynched as scum myself for doing that EXACT same thing, it would have basically taken a letter from God for me to ever get over the confirmation bias. (And her overnight posts really did baffle me.) Sorry, fluid.

But even at that, two town dropouts, including one of the town power roles; the masons being both forced out almost immediately, plus ht eother town power role; the town vig being in a position where he had to choose whether to shoot a no-show Captain on spec -- just a total mess from top to bottom.
I really could have used a good game for myself, too; I've pretty much done nothign but lose lately, and usually it's not been my fault. But this one was mine as much as anyone else's.

I really think it's just been a quiet game. Not a lot of talk, not a lot of people considering WHY things are happening. I feel like most of the town is just going with the flow, and that's to the town's detriment.
Given that, I wouldn't take it so personally. It's a team game; you didn't lose it all by your lonesome.

Thanks, Astral. It's hard not to notice that the first three (and three of the only four) posts toDay are from the scum team. At least stanislaus has one on the hook. I like to see good town players play well, and he's good.

I'm so perversely amused by Texcat's concern for peeker's engineering report. But woe, he kept an eye on Inner Stickler, not me.

OK, new scum-hunting rule. If the scum are doing poorly, start going after the quiet people. If the scum are rocking the joint, go after the talkative ones. This goes triple if the talkative ones are talking about the game setup and the roles in the game and what everybody should do and how, but seem to have no interest in finding scum.
This rule would unfortunately also pick up fluiddruid today, but then, she was on the scum shortlist already.

With the current votes, the forced multi-vote system is looking good. 3 of the top 4 vote-getters are scum, at the moment. Interestingly, none of the scum have voted yet.
But it may be too late for the town. If they don't lynch scum ToDay, it'll be very tough to recover.

Also, Pleo, I could be wrong on this, but I think it's game over if town don't lynch scum today. Nightkill Fluid, immediately casts votes for a townie as a bloc, and they have the highest-ranking vote for the tie-breaker. They could commissar kill someone, too.

You're right that scum have a clear path to victory, but I don't think it's guaranteed yet, even assuming another mislynch. They need peeker to not be released. Their commissar could kill, but that'll but them into the Brig.
Definitely keeping an eye on when to call it, but not ToDay or ToNight, I think.
