How about we create just two or three socks to be used by any of us in purgatory?

I hope I've managed to spread a little bit of misinformation, in the Catholic Church, purgatory is a step towards heaven only, you cannot go to hell once you've arrived on purgatory... I'm still unsure how we win... 1. There are no living non-Devil players and each Devil has claimed at least one soul. Isn't everyone besides the devils a non-devil? Or do claimed souls become devils? But they're dead. So we need to kill off everyone else AND meet a second, difficult, condition? What happens if a devil is lynched or killed before they claim a soul? We can't meet this wincon if Patricia is lynched toDay?2. At least half of all living players are Devils and at least one-third of all non-Devil players have had their soul claimed by any Devil. Again, similar to the typical scum wincon of controlling the lynch but with the extra requirement of 7 claimed souls?or 3. At least two-thirds of all non-Devil players have had their soul claimed by any Devil. 14 claimed souls? With only one per Night? What am I missing?I think we still get to try to claim souls after we die, we just can't post in the game thread? Or use our powers? Or mebbe we can. I'm confused too.

That's a good point.
What happens to devils when they are killed/lynched?

1. There are no living non-Devil players and each Devil has claimed at least one soul. Isn't everyone besides the devils a non-devil?Everyone who is not a Devil is a non-Devil. Or do claimed souls become devils?Non-Devils who are claimed move to Hell, where the only thing they can do is chat with you Devils and vote on the lynch. But they're dead.Yes. Dead players cannot talk in the Earth game threads, nor use their regular powers, but they can still do things to affect the game state. So we need to kill off everyone else AND meet a second, difficult, condition?Yes, the first way to win is by killing all non-Devils. It doesn't matter if Devils are alive or dead. And each Devil must have individually claimed a soul. What happens if a devil is lynched or killed before they claim a soul? We can't meet this wincon if Patricia is lynched toDay?Dead Devils can still participate in Purgatory and Hell. They can still claim souls and use their bonus power from doing so. They cannot talk in the Earth game threads, nor use their regular powers, nor make the Devil's "group" kill, nor use Cardinal Sins. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ 2. At least half of all living players are Devils and at least one-third of all non-Devil players have had their soul claimed by any Devil. Again, similar to the typical scum wincon of controlling the lynch but with the extra requirement of 7 claimed souls?Yes. And it doesn't matter which Devil claimed the souls. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ 3. At least two-thirds of all non-Devil players have had their soul claimed by any Devil. 14 claimed souls? With only one per Night? What am I missing?Yes, 14 souls claimed. Each Devil may only attempt to claim one soul per Night, but if there's more than one non-Devil in Purgatory, multiple Devils may try to claim. For example, if Alice, Bob and Carla are in Purgatory, War can try to claim Alice, Death can try to claim Bob and can try Deceiver to claim Carla. How about we create just two or three socks to be used by any of us in purgatory? Lucifer, the bad guy, who wants to steal souls Saint Peter, the good guy, wants to save those souls for god Merestil Haye, the neutral observer/informed, the moderator's side kick in purgatory Sharing socks is fine, but socks must be Devil themed. Other players won't know who the sock is, but they will know you are a Devil. No socking people we know, please.

Pleo, thanks very much for the replies. Dead devils being able to claim souls makes sense.
I'm still struggling with the wincons though. Even with 5 devils claiming souls, ideally 2 or more new souls entering purgatory each cycle, we have a 1/7 chance of guessing their cardinal sin (we may be able to deduce a few of them), one chance each cycle, and they halve their sins each cycle, enabling them to escape to heaven. It looks like a major uphill struggle.
But for Town too, they need to stop us from winning, when is that determined? - for the first wincon, all devils must be dead and there must be fewer souls in purgatory than devils without claimed souls - for the second, like above, we must all be dead and there mustn't be enough souls left in purgatory to allow us to reach 7 - for the third, town needs to have 8 or more souls in heaven/untouchables

Any chance holy moley is being a glutton?? Possible, but he always posts like that. On another front, Pollux needs to go. I hate to target a player Night One just because he's scary, but the dude has been on fire the past couple games and this one is no exception. He's making far too much sense. We can't have that.

Pleo, when you have a moment, can you check the format of this fake PM?
I think we should all prepare fake PMs asap, while we won't need to claim a cardinal sin, there's no harm selecting one.

03. The Pilgrim, Christian, Investigator - guiri
Role Name: The Pilgrim Alignment: Christian Victory Conditions: 1. You must stop the Devils from winning. You don't exactly know what that entails, but here are some hints: a. Lynching or killing Devils will always help your team. b. Removing your sins will always help your team, but increasing them may or may not be beneficial. c. Never reveal to another player nor allow another player to figure out your Cardinal Sin. Role Type: Investigator Powers: 1. Each Night, you may investigate a living player to discover their role name. Initial Sins: 1 Cardinal Sin: Greed Each Night, you may choose to guess the total number of active votes on all players combined for the next Day. If no other Greedy player (Greedy players may be of any alignment) guesses closer, without going over, you will learn the alignment of the player with the most votes who is not lynched. You will sin if you do this, whether you win or not. This power cannot be blocked or redirected, but some powers may falsify your result.

Lynching or killing Devils will always help your team. b. Removing your sins will always help your team, but increasing them may or may not be beneficial. c. Each Night that you have no sin, you may target a living player to escort them through the Night. If that player is Christian, you will protect them from being killed. If that player is a Devil, they will kill you. Initial Sins: 1 Cardinal Sin: Pride If at the end of a Day, either 1) the first vote (either active or inactive) on the lynched player is your active vote, or 2) your first vote (whether active or not) of the Day is on the lynched player, then you may choose to protect yourself from being blocked or redirected. This is in addition to your role's powers, but you will sin if you choose to do so. This power cannot be blocked or redirected.
How's that look? I can't claim anything like my real power, it's too blatantly anti-Town.

Do the Masons seem funny to anybody else? They're listed as Investigator/Mechanic/Manipulator, but their only power is a protection. I suspect shenanigans.

Hidden Powers: 5. You may not communicate secretly when dead. Power 1 is an investigation power--it gives info about other players. Power 2 is a mechanic power--it allows secret communication. Powers 3 & 4 are manipulator powers--they stop certain other powers. Also, you guys have the complete rules set.

Guys, please remember to use the right role type for your claims. We have an investigator who can tell if you're lying about that.
I don't have time right now but my plan is to make up a claim, then test it against all the known roles to see if anyone can out me based on it.
Another note: I think HoltMoley is one of the roles that has abilities based on votes at EOD. Again, I don't have time to check.

Is it possible Moley is The Prophetess and has noticed that Chucara has vote for around 1/3 of the players and so suspects they may have the same role, but possibly not the same alignment?

I have no idea what Moley is on about, but I would cautiously run with it. He's the kind of player that prides himself on being tricky, and could easily be laying a trap, but he could also just be convinced he sees something. Lead him on but let him do the lifting, and if he manages to link the two of you before he flips Town you'll be in an awesome place.
