Did anybody wind up bidding on anything?

I felt over extended with the kill, as it was.

wow. Night ended quickly.
story, no bids. :-(
forget about not voting. you might be able to use it to your advantage since they might think that scum wouldn't pass up a chance to bid.

How do we play the perception that my NK was a one off vig shot? Can we still play the "there are no scum" angle here? Should we indeed do so?

i don't think so. it's clear one fourth is scum rounded down. we can make it appear that scum is inept or dozing.

Here (frankly, and with respect) Pleonast, is an issue I have:
How do we do anything, town-side, today without "fishing"? Town players who won bids are holding on to results, and we have no recourse to act upon it. If they are so inclined, they can say nothing, and no one will know.
It's as if half of the abillity to deduce, anything, is removed for this game, and that hurts everyone involved, regardless of side.
If no one self reports, we have day one all over again.
On a practical note, I'm not sure how to comment today per the bidding activity. "I didn't bid last night" reads to me as saying ""but I did do something else"". So I'm saying nothing.
Perhaps we play off the fact that one person admits to two things?

Thanks, Silverjan. You aren't on my scum list either.
Heh, heh, heh.
Ok, we have Maha claiming he bid at 35 and was also blocked.
A lot to chew over on that. But I'm not sure if I'm chewing muscle or fat.
You guys have any take?
At the very least, let Silverjan live past tonight?

Where are we if story hangs? Is 2:1 as bleak as I think it is? I can only assume and therefore chalk it up to a lucky guess that story got fingered (heh).
I think we need to vote story, for town cred, but also so we can vote. We need the investigation power tonight.
Do we go for a 33 - 40 point bid?

I wonder if we should bid for investigate, then post stating we investigated the other, and they are town.
I don't think a game of this size will afford an investigation to be "wasted" by spending it on someone already investigated. I don't fear anyone getting investigated twice, is what I am trying to say here.
I think we must exploit that, even if it kills one of us to get the other "in the clear"
insert verbiage here about how I naturally think a townie meeko will be better for scum, than a townie gnarly.
Many games have been held where a townie meeko has helpped scum, in one form or another, non-intentional, I assure you.
Let's give the scum what they want, what town won't touch.
Heh. Heh. Heh.
Now, all we have to do, is actually win the bid. We probably should take out the obsfuscate power too.

crap. that sucks for story.
meeko, at least we tend to last until late in the game. we need to be more aggressive with bidding.

I was thinking, and with story gone, this can't work, that we all three, should have bid 50 on each and every damn power.
We bid 50, and tie, and have a 33 shot at a 50 shot.
Town would kill to have that leverage. ... Well you know what I mean.

crap. that sucks for story. meeko, at least we tend to last until late in the game. we need to be more aggressive with bidding. And it still won't guarantee anything. All we have is Maha stating he bid 35. . you know, I think we don't bid tonight. Having story flip scum will put a run on the investigate bid. ... A run off a Cliff. Someone will over extend in voting investigate tonight, to their, and therefore towns, detriment. I should also point out, that while I do last long in games, I am usually the first to be investigated. Playing Meeko first above all else is double edged. Should we we both bid 36 on each and every power? This is off of my stated maximum earlier, but we are one down now, and it is only 3% change! a notice that truly is negligible. Also, it beats 35.; Maha stated 35, and knowing my psych 101 as I do, that's going to be a few players max. The primacy effect is going to more or less install 35 as a new ""ceiling"" for most players.

If I win X powers, I face X separate trials of death. Each such trial yielding the odds of the second place bid of the corresponding power. Correct?
It's not like you roll the dice once, and have that total stand for all trials.not like you average, or in any other way do a shorthand or average, or what have you.

THe problem with bidding 36 if half the town is bidding 35 is that while you'll get the power, you'll also take a 35% risk of death and, especially now, the Scum team can't really withstand extra deaths.
Man, I'm disappointed. I was excited to play this one. There's really nothing less fun then getting investigated as Scum - someone figuring you out during the Day at least can lead to an entertaining back-and-forth, but this is just anticlimactic.
All I can say as I shuffle off to Buffalo is to make sure you don't concentrate so much on thinking about the powers that you forget that the game will be won or lost during the Day. Force mislynches, and the things that happen at Night will just be a sidebar.
