Diomedes If I attempt to kill a second Vampire (if there is such a thing), do I die, instead)
Pleonast If a Vampire attempts to kill another Vampire, the result is a block, just as if you had tried to kill a Vicar.

peekercpa If I bless someone is that only for the night or the entire game If I bless a scotsman and he survives is he still blessed upon dead Can I just bless the current day lynch target or does it have to be a specific player
Pleonast The blessing is permanent. Once blessed the player can never be turned into a Zombie. Your blessing fails if the target isn't dead (because of the Witchdoctor or the Scotsman's ability).
Before the end of each Day, give me the name of a dead player you haven't blessed and isn't a Zombie, or say "I bless the soon to be lynched". You don't have to name them specifically in that case.

Omi no KamiI came up with a fun (if improbable) strategy to bate Scum into attacking me, but it toes the metagaming line enough that I wanted to check and see if it was alright with you. Essentially, I was thinking of making a false and covert role claim by spelling out a message with the first letter of each line in a post: the experienced players comb through the posts so thoroughly, I suspect I could get at least a few people to pick up on it. Would that be permissible, or do you think I'd best not? PleonastPermissible: yes. The only post restrictions are the SDMB rules. So an encrypted post would be not allowed. But hidden messages within a plaintext post is certainly fine. Wise: that's for you to decide.

CatInASuit The Inquisitive Detective Diaries - Night Zero
I thought I would write more of the diaries to add to the spoiler site.
First of all, I have a feeling this is going to be a fun game, but I think the town is going to lose horribly. Currently it seems that anyone who is not an investigative or protect role seems to lose heart and wait for someone to tell them what to do. If that happens then we do not stand a chance. The scum do not have that lack of motivation, at least I hope they do, but I doubt it. I expect them to be smarter, wiser and more prepared than before.
So, this is why I have brought out my Magic Bag.
It is designed to do several things. 1. It should get the whole of the town involved as they will have to use their powers intelligently to counteract the fact that everyone is saying something. 2. It will put a bind on the scum and really limit their ability to choose an appropriate role for themselves. The one thing they do not have is pro-town knowledge, or rather they only have the knowledge from the last game. As all the roles have changed slightly anyone having exactly the same role as last time is likely to be a scum. Whether they will realise that or not is anyone's guess. 3. I felt like changing the current Mafia paradigm on the SDMB and for that I should apologise to you, Pleonast, for picking on your game. However, it is probably the only one where I can see it working. The games have got a bit samey and I am hoping this will be a fresh change. 4. Self Protection. Everyone is going to be wondering why I would suggest this and hopefully steer clear of me at Night. If people do follow this, then yes I will be claiming Detective. I like WIFOM
The only way the scum can counteract this successfully, is if every single one roleclaims truthfully at the start of the game.
Oh wait, that involves trust doesn't it. At the end of the game, ganging up to take down a powerful faction is one thing, but at the start of the game, we are all equals. And trust is the one thing that is really missing in this game between the factions
Do I expect people to listen to me. No, I expect everyone to try and reject it out of hand because roleclaiming is something we just don't do on Day 1.
So, as Night Zero draws to a close, let's see what Cat I have put among the pigeons.
Pleonast Thanks, for the info. I'm saving all interesting PMs for future viewers.
I don't mind your strategy; it's exactly the sort of thing I would do as a player.
