Hello fellow non-Christian folks! I hope that your Yule celebrations were enjoyable...now let's go kick some Devilish butts!
I am The Mother, as you know. I am a Manipulator.
"Each Night you may protect another living player from most killing powers, but all of their targeted powers will be explicitly redirected to you. If they use any targeted powers, they will receive the message, "Your targeted powers have been redirected to Player."

Hello? Is this thing on?
Oh, I see how it is...you can't be bothered just to call your Mother and say hello...well, I guess I should have expected it...
<siiii-iiiiiiigh>
(it's me, SP, BTW)
((Just FYI))

SORRY, MOM!
I had trouble logging into the board. I'm here now.
Maiden, checking in.

I am an investigator:
Each Night you may learn the alignment of another living player, but will fail if they are attempting to use any active powers.

I am facepalming over Idle's choice to reveal as much as he has revealed. Especially of his Cardinal Sin. For those who didn't play the last game -- and this may not still hold true -- if the Devils could guess one's Cardinal Sin, they could drag one down to Hell.

Yeah, I certainly wouldn't have played it that way...but then again, I do tend to be somewhat risk-averse when it comes to Mafia.
And we have to consider the possibility that Idle is bluffing, in part or in whole. Furthermore, I wouldn't assume that everything is going to work the same way it did in the first game. In fact, I expect that there are some very large differences, and I'm going to be suspicious of anyone who overdoes the "this is the way it worked last time" angle.

On the subject of Cardinal Sins...
Should we share our own with each other here?
My gut says "no". When someone tells you "trust no one", it's usually best to take them at their word. But I can see where it might be useful for us to be able to coordinate efforts if we knew each others' full potential. Then again, if one of us should be sucked down to Hell, any knowledge they have could conceivably be used against the rest of us.
On the other hand...nope, I'm out of hands. Any thoughts?

Yeah, I think it's best to keep that information to ourselves for the time being.

Now. Why a shout-out by the Crone in the game thread but not here? (Also, I'm thinking I should have gone with "SpookyLittleGirl" as a username, but oh, well.)

The Crone had much difficulty accessing this board.
The Crone doesn't like having to use a sock account. It's bad enough I have to keep track of my other accounts.

And will The Crone share his primary power with the rest of the class, as we've already established that we shouldn't share anything to do with our Sins?

And I certainly hope The Crone will stop referring to himself (or should it be herself?) in the Third Person, or Mom is gonna have to lay some smack down

And will The Crone share his primary power with the rest of the class, as we've already established that we shouldn't share anything to do with our Sins? I poison people. People who make me upset. People who mispronounce my name. People who pronounce the "t" in often. People who end sentences with a preposition. Things like that. While poisoned, their votes don't count. Then, purely for my own amusement, they die. If I am feeling particularly magnanimous, I can cure them of the poisons which I have administered. You know, so I can poison them again later, crushing their false sense of hope. I, like you both, cannot be converted.

So, guys, in a completely OOG and OOC sense, I have a sportsmanship-related request:
Can we all not reveal our role number?
Also, I think the three of us should leave our votes where they are, while I ask Pleonast if perhaps maybe a rule amendment might be in order.
Should be obvious why. Maybe I'm just a worry wart.

Maybe I'm just getting old and senile...but I have no idea what you're concern is.
I'm Role # 07.

Don't mind me, Pleonast explaied to me that the numbers mean nothing because they're randomized too.

So...it's been pointed out that there were only 2 Pagans. If we believe all of the claims, there are at least 6 in this game. Does anyone think that's a problem?
Personally, I think there's no reason to assume this game bears more than a passing resemblance to the last one, so I have not trouble believing the makeup is wildly different...though I'm not sure how much I believe any of the "claims" we've seen so far. Any thoughts?
