Talk about the game here. Dead players in Heaven can discuss freely here, too.

Well, Idle just gave away their Cardinal Sin. Only one potential part of a role PM mentions the five types of powers, and it's the Envy Cardinal Sin. We'll see how quick the Devil catches on.

Good to have you here. I want to avoid misapplying the powers etc as designed and a second set of eyes is very helpful. I'm keeping the game state and double-entry action list as before. Let me know if anything is amiss. Comments about design are welcomed too, but that horse has left the barn already.

Hmm, biggest problem I can see is that there is no reason for any of the players who can NK to go ahead and NK. Also, either the Devil's really need to be able to NK, or one of the Killers needs to be compulsory. Otherwise this could be a very, very, long, slow game. Here's hoping they decide to be "pro-active"
I'm not sure the Court of Hell is going to be much use once at least two people lose their souls. They will always be able to outvote the sole Devil.
Just one question: how does the Devil 'recruit' people? I think I missing seeing the rule anywhere

About Night kills: there's the potential for a lot of death. See the Warlock in particular and consider the roles that get to use their powers once per player. I'm actually more worried about the kill count being too high. Also, a slower game is fine--there's a lot for players to digest in this one. More time will make for a better game.
The Devils are designed to win by tagging, not killing. It's the Christians who are more like a traditional scum alignment.
The Court (and the lynch tie-breaker) is more for Pagans vs Christians to fight over. I like it because it's anti-correlated with success on Earth. If Pagans are winning on Earth, there may be more Christians in Hell to counterbalance that.
Heh, there is no Devil recruitment. The Christians start out as two recruiters, no one else, and can only recruit from Pagans. The fourth alignment is Agnostic, which will eventually get the option to join any team. So that's the only way there can be another Devil.
I think the game is relatively balanced, but it also has a lot of swing designed into it. I hope it turns out to be fun.

Hi Pleo - hope jury duty is going ok.
I feel sorry for Mahaloth on occasions - he always gets suspicion early.
I did have a quick look, but you appear to have removed all the sin removal from the game other then the Fisherman's recruit and the trickster's one-shot.
Oh good.

It's over. Fairly straightforward misdemeanor case.
There's multiple ways to reduce sin: Fisher, once-per-player cleansing for both Pagans and Christians Goatherd, reduces sins by one, along with a swap Trickster, several one-shot self-cleanses Priest, transfers sins to kill, one-shot all-cleanse Matchmaker, could reduce sins by one, self-cleanses
That's some variety, but nothing too over-powered, which would make it too hard for the Devils to win. And since sins are halved Daily in Purgatory, lots of sins aren't too bad.

As expected, Night One was very complicated.
Silver Jan, the Agnostic, saved a lot of players from poisoning by protecting Mahaloth from Pagan powers, since Brewha the Warlock targeted them. That would've been messy.
Of course, all the investigations going to the gnarlycharlie the Trickster will be a big source of trouble. Which was the intent, but I didn't expect it on Night One. I wonder if they'll claim and give some of their results.

Day Two was exciting! The Devil has been outed, but not yet eliminated.

Yay! I made it to Heaven, and Brewha is here too. It's a lot to take in. Haven't a lot of the cardinal sins been exposed by Gnarly?

Hard to say. Idle gave enough to reveal their Cardinal Sin on Day One, but the Devil didn't figure it out. I expect they'll guess right ToNight.

Oh, I just realized that they can claim living players! So when the devil dead, not tonight, since Colby is protecting him, but hopefully tomorrow unless he uses the CS to prevent it, do you announce the change in wincons? I am thinking that I might want to kill Mahaloth before he converts any more Pagans.

I knew it! I had this nagging feeling that the Christians were the true enemy. No one expects the Spanish Inquisition! I wonder how long it'll take my Pagan brothers to figure it out?
No idea what I'll do tonight - if anything. There's a shit ton to digest. I'll pour through it tomorrow.
And, wow - what a colossal screw up my night one target could have been! I really did miss Mahaloth's claim. Good thing Silver Jan did what she did!
This is going to be an exciting game. I'm almost glad I get to watch it from this end.

So, now that the Devil is dead - the Pagans get to learn that they need to kill of the Christians? When?!?! And do the Christians know that they are going to be hunted? It should be a slaughter since Mahaloth has already claimed and Idle and maybe Packratter have claimed to have been converted. That only leaves one, right? Gotta go back the look at bit.
This could get messy!

The Devil is not dead, only publicly revealed. The hidden victory conditions will be revealed when the Devil is actually dead.

I see Guiri has accepted Mahaloth's recruitment offer. Is it too late for us to stop that? I'd really like to have a Pagan in heaven that could send messages to town, instead of a Christian.
Depending on who Enderboy decides to target, I suspect that we will want to block him.

And I see that I need to look again at RedSk's posts for his crumbs. Although, I'm not sure what good it will do us, we really need to send messages the other way.

3. Once per game, during the Day or Night, you may remove all sins from a living player, but also block all their powers (including passive) that Day/Night and the following Night/Day.
Block Enderboy

I see Guiri has accepted Mahaloth's recruitment offer. Is it too late for us to stop that? Yes, too late, Mahaloth's power is a Day one. I'd really like to have a Pagan in heaven that could send messages to town, instead of a Christian. It's impossible to communicate from Heaven (or Hell). Afterlife communication is only with those in Purgatory. 3.
