I received a PM at Dusk Today.
"An unknown player wishes to slake their lust with you. If you accept before the end of this Night, you will be protected from all killing powers ToNight, but will gain one sin."
It appears to be the same sort of power that was used in the earlier game, but I don't recall exactly what the details were that time. I'm inclined to decline it.

I think that's entirely up to you. Who do we think I should investigate? No one who explicitly said they're going to be using their powers.
I think there are an awful lot of investigators in the game.

You could always target Mahaloth...he claimed a Day power, so he should be doing nothing Tonight...other than that, I got nothin'.
I can protect someone, but any targeted power they use will be directed at me. So, for example, if I protect a Vigilante/SK...I die. Anyone stand out to you guys as desperately needing protection?

I wonder what would happen if Mahaloth targeted one of us? According to his claim, we should receive a PM saying "You have been given an offer to become a Christian. If you accept you will change alignment and victory conditions, and your sins will be reduced to zero. Reply in the affirmative before the end of the Night if you accept. There is no penalty for refusal." I can't see any way that could be interpreted as anything other than a 'recruitment offer'...but we can't be recruited.
Is Mahaloth blowing smoke? Would his offer simply 'not apply'? Is this an oversight on the Mod's part? Is there a difference between 'being offered an alignment change' and 'being recruited'?
Pleonast, would you be so kind as to answer any or all of the questions in the above paragraph, at your discretion?

Pleonast, would you be so kind as to answer any or all of the questions in the above paragraph, at your discretion? I cannot answer any of those questions. In general, players cannot know how their powers might interact with other players' powers. Oh, I can answer one: "changing alignment" and "being recruited" are the same thing. You three know that your alignment and victory conditions are the same and unchangeable.

I cannot think of anyone who deserves special treatment tonight in terms of protection.
I am inclined to murder someone who lynched TexCat, any thoughts? Or do you trust me to pick?
I'm also glad she turned out innocent as I suspected. I'd hate to have to answer a lot of early questions.

I think shooting into the TexCat pool might be a good idea.
Pleo, do you want PMs, or can we submit "orders" here?
And I agree that investigating Maha is probably my best bet.

I'd go for Packratter as a kill target. I didn't like his last-minute, wouldn't-have-made-a-difference-anyway, didn't-know-who-was-in-the-lead vote. Plus, as the second-place vote-getter he's a 'logical choice' for a Vig kill, which I guess is what this is...
Please don't forget to post your action here in addition to sending Pleo a PM, so we know what it is.

Unless one of you has a sudden flash of insight, I'm going to sit on my hands tonight.

Oh argyle, I'd still protect someone. It's a choice between zero odds and minute odds you make a positive difference to the outcome of the game. Randomize it if you like.
I don't want to kill Packratter (another she), I kind of want to kill Lightfoot.
Heck I don't really want to kill Lightfoot either. I guess I have a soft spot for the womens.
Stay strong, old crone. Kill the lovely people that you in no way want to kill except that they might be guilty.
Old Crone kills Packratter, bottom lip quivering with sadness.

My only concern on a protection is that any targeted action my target takes gets redirected to me. That could be a moot point (if I target someone with no 'active' ability), it could be beneficial (if I target a doc), it could be more-or-less harmless (if I target a cop), or it could kill me (if I target a Vig).
That's why I'm reluctant to throw my protection out there blindly.

Fair point. Okay, be idle tonight. Seems safer/smarter.
