You can both protect and investigate.

Thus spake SisC: I could get behind a guiri check. I'd say he's my first choice, followed by Burby. The question is, which of the two of you do we protect tonight? Yeah, I'm curious about guiri -- he's not drawing many votes, he could be a non-Town player flying below the radar. Burby is also a good choice. I suggest you, SisC, be the one to investigate, as the least likely person to get blocked. Septy and I, one of us should protect the other. I think we should NOT try out out-think any kill attempts, but pick at random. (And I mean truly random, not "everybody close your eyes and grab at the augury animal's entrails.") Thoughts?

Also -- I'm thrilled that in protecting me we managed to take down a Cabal, our personal adversaries. Neener neener, Peeker!

Was peeks undeadified?
Okay.
So:
me to investigate guiri,
and, based on a d6 roll
ben to protect septimus.
We good with that?
Also, I'm serious about my question about breadcrumbing related to guiri.

Peeks's faction was revealed at Dusk 2.
I concur with SisC investigate guiri, me protect Septimus.
I still don't get whether guiri breadcrumbed, I'll take another look.

No, I know he was cabal. I'm just wondering if he was raised from the dead and is now shuffling about mumbling "braaaaaaaains" or the peeker-equivalent.

I'll announce this in-thread next week, but I have a date for my radiation treatment: next Friday. So I figure I'll be off-line pretty much the whole day.

I agree with SisC Investigating Guiri. And I've nothing better than random to suggest for the Protection -- whenever I try to out Double-think the Triple-thinkers, I just end up out-thunk.
Request for Rules Clarification: If, hypothetically, Ben is killed Night 2, does this mean he must wait until Day 4 for his first recruitment attempt? And then re-attempt Night 4, Day 5, etc. until success?
In the hypothetical, we'd lose a power for Night 3, but regain it Night 4 if the Day 4 recruitment succeeds. ... But need to wait until Night 5 if the Night 4 recruitment succeeds?

I just noted KidV and Pizza have claimed roles. An outed Magician is very weak, so not much of a Night-Kill target, right? Except for the secret power of being recruited as Witch. With our recruitment power, the loss of a Witch is slightly less disastrous than usual so we should consider Protecting another Townie instead of ourselves. I don't think either outed Magician or Vicar is a powerful role, but both Pizza and KidV are better players than me, so we might want to reconsider our Protect. Why did KidV reveal his role toNight??? Even if he wanted to do it toMorrow (to save Pizza from Lynch) any Kill toNight against KidV (which could have been redirected to kill the player of KidV's choice) will likely to be changed to Kill outed Townie Pizza.

You've got a good point, Septy -- we are better off protecting our backups than ourselves.
Given your WTF comment, I think it's a better call to protect Pizza.
Septy, any opinion on investigating guiri?

Vindy got caught in a major screw-up. Pollux says in N2.25 that the rules let the Freemasons attempt handshakes DURING THE DAY, and Vindy claimed to attempt a handshake at Night.
That's a big goof and a failed cover role. I don't think it's worth wasting an investigation on Vindy to confirm the fail. But I'm bringing it up here in case there are contrary opinions.

You've got a good point, Septy -- we are better off protecting our backups than ourselves. Given your WTF comment, I think it's a better call to protect Pizza. Septy, any opinion on investigating guiri? But Pizza isn't a potential backup -- he's Vicar (" Only a Magician, Seer, Warlock or Witchdoctor has the necessary magical skill to be recruited") I think KidV's claim was wrong, but works out well. Vampires and Wolves won't dare try to NK a self-redirector, so he'll be around forever and is our perfect replacement! I'm suspicious of both guiri and BillMc, which is why I go along with guiri as target. Even one night without full Witch powers might be worse than losing Vicar's powers. I'd be happy to reconsider Protect target by rolling the d6 again though. Perhaps: 1,2 - Protect Septimus 3 - Protect Pizza 4 - flip a coin between Pizza/Ben 5,6 - Protect Ben

Oops, thanks for the correction. I keep failing at that.
The Wolves could attempt their one-shot block-kill on KidV. I think it's unlikely they'll try it right now, because they may want to save it for us.
*If* the Wolves and Cabal could coordinate, they could also subject-block, target-block, and kill KidV all on one Night. And that's how Conspiracy gets its name -- they would have to conspire openly.

If there is only one remaining Cabalist (unlikely), they would do well to hide for a bit then throw their support to the Wolves. (Depending on reveals.)
Still - do we protect Septy as planned, or do we re-roll between Septy, me, and Pizza?

Suppose a Witch is killed on Night Two: At Dawn of Day Three, the death is announced. At Dawn of Day Four, either the Witch comes back because of Witchdoctor enchantment, or is revealed as Town. During Day Four, assume the dead Witch selects a Magician, Seer, Warlock or Witchdoctor as a replacement. At Dusk of Night Four, the new Witch joins the Witch team. During Night Four, the Witches are at the new strength number.
If the replacement is selected perfectly, there's only one Night's loss of power.

Since Vampires are eager to NK the Vicar, and may guess we're "wasting" our Protect on ourselves, they're very likely to target Pizza.
Perhaps we should Protect Pizza. Or, to compromise, roll d6:
1: Protect Septy 2,3,4: Protect Pizza 5,6: Protect Ben
I think SisC is busy with RL. We've just an hour to decide, Ben.
