Just a general comment about the setup--this is a very scum-centric game. That is, the game is going to be won or lost by the scum's choices. They are very power-heavy and loaded with information. Their burden is not to make info slips and to maximize their potential. Their win conditions are harder than normal, but they have three ways of winning.
Town has a lot of information to catch up on. But they have a very powerful line-up, if they can coordinate. Easier said than done.

I've just made a fast pass through the information here and overloaded. I'll come back and read again this evening.
May I read the other boards - Heaven, Hell, Purgatory and the Priory? I assume so but don't want to barge in.
Once I'm fully up to speed, do you want me to act as a backstop to catch possible slips?
I'm sorry to have missed this, but I really need a break.

You're welcome to read-only any of the other boards, but please don't post obviously.
And I'll definitely welcome any help in processing the game. As you can see in the game state thread, I'm trying to keep notes who's doing what to who, plus all the accounting. Point out any errors there in this thread (try to keep that thread clean).

GDI, I had TWO of them but couldn't make cases.
KidV has been pinging the hell out of me since the get-go, and guiri's post about what I had or hadn't said at the end of the Day...bloody buggering feck.
My only real question is about the confusion between Laurie having a sin and Laurie being innocent.

The solution is that The Martyr moved all the sins to themself at the end of Night One. Which is also why you're in Heaven now and not Purgatory.

And don't forget that while you are now spoiled, you still can affect the game by using the one-shot guardian angel power. Feel free to spy on Hell if you think it'll be helpful.

And just for the record: I'm a writer -- I'm a much better liar than that. Sheesh. I think I might be offended.
And it's funny as heck to me that I was right about the Greed count.

A random question, Pleo: Have you ever seen Paint your Wagon?

In which Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin Sing! No, I'm not kidding. The reason I asked, though, is there is this awesome bear/bullfighting scene in which the parson ends up swallowed by the earth -- and is greeted by one of the other characters who he has very nearly fallen on with "Hello, Parson, welcome to Hell." I dunno. The game made me think of it.

And KidV: No, no I don't have any luck with Vig roles.
In fact, I'm thinking I may just start claiming right out the gate when I have one.

I know I'm pretty much talking to myself at this point, but I've never understood taking out the Masons this early.
Yes, they're semi-confirmed Town/Christian/whatever, but by killing one of them the others become confirmed. And there's always Ragnarok to point to as a way to sow dissent in Town.
Later in the game, yes, definitely. But this early...especially if they're looking for a particular role, better to shoot into the unclaimed pool, I should think.

The Masons in this game are also Doctors. They're aiming to reduce the number of protections.
Too bad they're picking on the only one who can self-protect (at the cost of a bit of sin).
Oh, I forgot. If this forum had karma I would have handed out a smite. I hadn't thought of Wandrin' Star for a good few years, and now Lee Marvin's voice is droning in my ear.

I'm not sorry. It could be worse. It could be "Hand me down that Can of Beans" which I've had stuck in my head since I mentioned it. And that's a fair point.

Oh, hey, Laurie, welcome to Heaven. The Martyr took your sin. That's why you didn't have one when I checked.

AH!!! I could not for the life of me figure out why I had no sins. I started with 1 sin, 1 Cardinal Sin and committed 1 sin by investigating Pollux. When you revealed your role I had the feeling it was similar to mine so I unvoted you. I'm so happy to have gone straight to Heaven Less people for Devils to recruit. (Although, "ghosting" someone would have been fun, too!)

My son has his Winter Concert tonight, so I'm off, but I can't wait to finish reading this stuff. Pleo, this is an amazing game - I wish I hadn't messed up and could have actively played longer, but I probably would have been mislynched toDay anyway. I'm looking forward to seeing how all this plays out. And I love that the Devils forgot that people in Heaven can read their boards and have posted who is who. Made it much easier for us to be Guardian Angels if we know who is targetting whom

Boy, Paranoia was lucky.
The threshold for keeping a player in Purgatory for an extra Night (and therefore an extra chance for the Devils to claim their soul) is 2n. Paranoia entered Purgatory with 31 sins, meaning that, if unclaimed, he could get into Heaven at the end of Day 6, meaning that the Devils have a total of five Nights to guess his Cardinal Sin.
If he had 32, he wouldn't ascend until the end of Day 7.
(My original post overestimated the number of guesses Devils will have to grab Paranoia by one.)

Pity we can only protect those on Earth.
Pleo, Strictly out of curiosity, since I can't see any way to use it to our advantage, could I still use "Greed" if I chose toNight?
